August 21st:
Moonee Valley Brass came 1st at the 2011 LaTrobe Valley Eisteddfod.

The Moonee Valley Brass Band is a local community band supported by the City of Moonee Valley.

We perform in a variety of local festivals and ceremonies and even take part in state and nationwide competitions.

The band rehearses once a week at 7:15pm Monday nights in Bradshaw St Hall, Bradshaw St, Essendon.

We pride ourselves in our juniors program which allows primary and secondary school aged children to learn a brass instrument. Our Junior Band/Lessons runs at 6:30pm, prior to the main rehearsal, and we also provide an affordable instrument hire service ($25 a semester). Juniors are encouraged to join the Senior Band for warm-ups at 7:15pm so they experience playing at a more advanced level.

This Easter we represented you, our community, at the National Band Championships in Adelaide. Thanks to your support we were able to win our division and become the 'D' Grade National Champions. We also competed at the 89th Annual Bendigo Eisteddfod at the end of May and we won our division as well.

Moonee Valley Brass will be holding their annual showcase concert on November 5th. Prepare to be entertained by music for all ages featuring many of our victorious performances from across two states and four competitions.
