Moonee Valley Brass is one of the local community’s longest running community groups. Originally Essendon City Band, we have been performing at local community events and at competitions around the country and overseas for over 100 years.

Moonee Valley Brass is a leading community brass band based in Melbourne’s north-west, bringing together experienced musicians who are passionate about performing at a high level.

As the current Victorian Open C Grade State Champions, the band regularly competes at State and National Brass Band Championships, performing challenging repertoire and striving for musical excellence. It provides an exciting environment for players who want to continue developing their skills while being part of a dedicated ensemble.

High-Level Performance

Moonee Valley Brass performs regularly at concerts, competitions and community events, representing the Moonee Valley region across Victoria and Australia. Members work together to prepare high-quality performances and maintain the strong musical standard for which the band is known.

A Band for Experienced Players

This band is best suited to experienced brass and percussion musicians, including advanced students, returning players, and established performers who are looking for a rewarding musical challenge.

While the band focuses on high-level performance, Moonee Valley Brass also prides itself on being a supportive and welcoming group of musicians. Members share a love of brass banding and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from rehearsing, performing, and competing together.
